Microsoft announced naming map for ASP.NET codename ATLAS (Microsoft AJAX implementation) that is currently in last CTP pre-beta statust. Final release is expected until end of this year.
Scott Guthrie on his blog described in detail roadmap for ASP.NET Atlas development. About naming, in short:
1) Client side ATLAS libraries will be named Microsoft AJAX Library. They should work with any browser.
2) Server-side part of ATLAS that relies on ASP.NET will be named ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions. All tags prefixed with <atlas:> will have prefix <asp:>.
3) “Atlas” Control Toolkit will be named ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit.
