Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 are RTM

As already announced in Friday, it was clear that VS 2008 and .NET Fx 3.5 will be available early this week to MSDN subscribers. Yesterday morning, there were sporadic blog posts that Team Suite will be available on MSDN, but there was no changes on MSDN page for Visual Studio, nor on pages for Express Editions. In Monday evening Scott Guthrie posted announcement on his blog where he mentioned all of currently available downloads and his posts related to VS 2008

I would like just to mention Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 Training Kit, a 120MB download with presentations, demos and HOL's for VS 2008 (Thanks to SharePoint buzz) .

I already installed .NET Framework 3.5 on my Vista laptop. I downloaded 2.7MB setup bootstrap that pulled another 36MB from web. It includes .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and .NET Framework 3.0 SP1.

Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions are available as separate web downloads, or they can be downloaded in All-In-One DVD ISO Image (Approx. 850MB).

It is enough for now, I think.

PS. This is another good way to generate traffic to my blog :)

Hi Dragan - on Soma's blog you asked the question "If I install trial version of VS2008, will it be possible to convert it to full version without uninstalling?"<br /> <br />The answer is yes,you can:<br />1. Get to VS Setup from ARP table. Enter full PID – upgrade complete. No DVD required in this case.<br />2. Or you can launch setup from Retail DVD – if it’s the same VS edition, last option is to enter the full PID for upgrade.<br /><br />Good luck and thank you.<br />Carol
